The Walls of Attack on Titan
Attack on Titan’s walls protects cities and humans from the mindless Titans, giant humanoid creatures that feed on the living. The Titans are thought to have originated from another world and they first appeared a century ago.
The humans built massive three walls to protect the Eldian empire, but the Titans were able to breach the walls and destroy much of humanity.
The survivors now live in fear of the Titans and their only hope is the Scout Regiment, a group of soldiers who venture beyond the walls to try and find a way to defeat the Titans once and for all and to protect their own people.
What are the 3 Walls in Attack on Titan?
Wall Maria is the outermost and largest of the three concentric walls protecting the island nation of paradise from Titans.
It was breached fifteen years ago by a Colossus Titan, causing the fall of Shiganshina District and the death or exile of most of its inhabitants. The wall spans approximately 50 kilometers in circumference and is 50 meters tall.
Despite its size, Wall Maria is not impenetrable. In fact, it has been breached three times in the last hundred years: once by a rogue Titan, and twice by the colossal Titan.
The first breach occurred fifty years ago when a lone Titan managed to scale the wall and enter the village of Dauper. This event led to the creation of the Military Police Brigade, whose sole purpose is to protect the inner walls from Titans.
The second breach happened fifteen years ago when the Colossus Titan appeared out of nowhere and smashed through the gate of the Shiganshina District. This event led to mass panic and chaos, as well as the death or exile of most of Shiganshina’s residents.
The third and final breach occurred five years ago when another Colossus Titan appeared and destroyed Wall Rose, killing hundreds in the process.
Paradis has been on high alert since those tragic events. The military has become more vigilant than ever, stationing troops at key points along the wall and increasing patrols throughout all three districts.
Following Wall Maria, Wall Rose was the second outermost Wall. It was breached by the Colossal Titan in 850 but was later sealed by Eren Yeager.
After colossal titans appeared inside it a little over a month later, it was believed it had been breached again, but they emerged from another source.
Sheena Wall was the innermost wall protecting the kingdom, where the king and other nobles used to live. Military Police served under Rod Reiss at the time and protected the cities of Wall Sheena.
How Did They Build The Walls?
Titans have the ability to solidify their skin, essentially making it hard and forming a shape. All epic Titans did this to create wall titans.
Due to memory manipulation, the people inside the walls aren’t aware of all this, since their skin is hardened. We saw one in the last episode of season 1.
All of this was done by the first King Karl Fritz who was a founding titan as well. King Fritz whipped the people’s memory to ensure peace and killed or removed anyone who questioned it.
Only people of royal blood knew this and they also have some of the Founding Titan power, which has been passed down from generation to generation.
What was King Karl Fritz method of controlling the Titans?
This ability is called the coordinate ability. King Fritz was the Founding Titan (the one king) who had the ability to control all the titans.
What are the Walls made of in Attack on Titan?
The Walls in Attack on Titan are made of a material called permafrost. Permafrost is a type of soil that remains frozen for long periods of time. It is found in Polar Regions and at high altitudes.
In Attack on Titan, the walls are also made of an unknown metal alloy. This metal alloy is extremely strong and durable. It is also able to withstand the immense pressure exerted by the Titan powers.
Mindless Roaming Titans: Where Do They Come From?
Through the use of a syringe and injection thing, anyone from the Eldian bloodline can become a beast titan.
As a result, there were no careless titans at first. However, after the ruler left, war broke out, and the Marleys won.
King decided to use injections and turn ordinary Eldians into colossal titans and threw them on the paradise island.
There were already gigantic structures and walls when they started throwing these mindless titans, and by the time of Eren, you had millions of them.
